Complex, aromatic and so singular… ripe and tart stone fruit, dried apricots, chamomile, supple leather, dried flowers, touch of ginger and fine, velvety tannins.
Why we love it: Made with estate-grown, organic grapes, this orange wine is one-of-a-kind: a gorgeous wine of structure and finesse, made with grapes harvested through four passes. Trebbiano is harvested early, ripe and then late, with botrytis-affected grapes by the time the late harvest happens. Vermentino is harvested and peak ripeness. The wines are all vinified in separate lots to enhance the qualities to their best, before being blended and aged in stainless steel.
Chiarofiore is a personal favourite of Simon J. Woolf, who wrote the book on amber/orange wines (called Amber Revolution – it’s worth a read!).
