This is a wine for anyone who loves the sauvignon blancs of Sancerre! Delicately aromatic with the mineral depth that we love in Fidesser wines, it’s a very classic, classy SB that shows hints of dewy lemongrass, white and green citrus and white blossoms.

Why we love it: Sophie Fidesser is the youngest vigneronne we represent at The Road. Along with her brother, Rudi, the two are taking the helm of their family’s multi-generational, staunchly biodynamic estate just south of the Czech border, in northern Austria. With the demand for Sauvignon Blanc at an all-time high, as sommeliers, we’re always looking for fantastic SB that doesn’t break the bank. Enter one like Fidesser’s Platter Sauvignon Blanc: it’s crisp, textural and nuanced: a classy broad that, like the rest of these wines, punches way above its price point. We’ve been loving this with all the root veg dishes – soups, roasted veggies, alongside a good roasted chicken or turkey… it’s also beautiful with goat-cheese dishes. Think salads, stuffings and more.
