Gina Giugni, second-generation biodynamic grower and (brilliant) natural winemaker makes this wine with own-rooted, high-density planted and organically farmed Sauvignon Blanc from the Stolpman Vineyard, which lies 15 miles from the Pacific Ocean.

These grapes were foot tread and soaked on skins overnight before being whole-bunch pressed. Spontaneous fermentation in neutral French oak barrels was followed by élèvage for 7 months sur lie before being bottled unfiltered.

Prev. (2021) vintage: 95 points: Robert Parker – The 2021 Sauvignon Blanc Stolpman Vineyard comes from own-rooted vines planted in 2005 on limestone. It is made like the rest of the wines in the Lady of the Sunshine portfolio: grapes are foot tread, left on skins overnight and then fermented and matured in neutral French oak barrels. It has gorgeous aromas of lime blossom, meringue, tarragon and a core of peppery white peach. The medium-bodied palate has a creamy texture and intense, savory flavors balanced by tangy acidity that calls you in for another sip. I love the yin-and-yang of this Sauvignon Blanc's broader, honey-nut flavors and energetic, citrusy acidity.
