Why we love it: Mary’s Anjou Blanc is a stunning value from one of our favourite wine regions (the Loire Valley) and is a beautiful, pure expression of Loire Chenin – our “desert island” white.
The 2023 Anjou Blanc is the perfect vin de soif, from HVE3 Sustainably farmed grapes by fourth generation farmer and vigneron, Pascal Boitteau. Anjou Blanc is a Parisian bistro staple (both of our favourite carafe wine to sip on among the summery cobblestone patios there) – timeless with its balanced, concentrated flavours amongst a dry and vibrant frame.
Find concentrated, elegant notes of white blossom, just-ripe stone fruit, crushed rock, pez.
90 points: WineAlign (2021 vintage) – “Made with fruit from vineyards lying on the border of Anjou’s two sub-regions, Anjou Blanc and Anjou Noir, this is an expressive and vibrant chenin blanc. I really like the vivid palate brimming with grapefruit, ripe green pears, and honeyed apples. Firm, tart acidity and a supple texture make up the wine's elegant architecture. Length is excellent.” / “Good shine and acid strength propels the wine forward and as Anjou Blanc it succeeds with flying colours.” / “I find this marvelously balanced and lively, and above all infinitely drinkable.”
