Grape Variety: 60% sauvignon blanc, 40% chardonnay

Why we love it: Gina Giugni, second-generation biodynamic grower and (brilliant) natural winemaker works collaboratively in practicing organic farming at Presqu’il Vineyard, in the cooler, more northern sub-region of Santa Maria Valley in Santa Barbara.
This is a gorgeous, textural, playful blend that is inspired by the Sauvignon Blanc/Chardonnay blends historically made in the Cheverny region in the Loire Valley.
The two varieties were harvested on the same day, foot tread, and soaked on skins overnight before being whole-bunch pressed separately. Both wines saw spontaneous fermentation in neutral French oak, where they aged for 7 months sur lie before being racked into the blend, and then bottled unfiltered.
Prev. (2021) Vintage: 94 points: Robert Parker – The 2021 Chevey is a refreshing, drinkable blend of 60% Sauvignon Blanc and 40% Chardonnay. It features soft, alluring white peach, spring honey, almonds, tarragon and lemongrass aromas. Medium-bodied, rounded and juicy, it offers intense flavors ranging from bright lime and baker's yeast to honeycomb, and it has a long, textural finish. Delicious… it's far from a simple Chardonnay and really outshines [the] price point.
