Why we love it: energetic and bombastic, nuanced and balanced, Mikey’s Vino de Los Ranchos (“wine of the farms”) Pinot Noir is an excellent and approachable gateway into the rest of his exciting range of red wines. A practitioner of the pursuit of balance, I love the lower alcohol/elevated acidity here: hallmarks of Scar of the Sea reds. Alongside the high-toned fruit notes and depth of aromas that waft out of the glass at first smell, these qualities make this a stunning food wine, especially wonderful to pair with all of the Fall produce that’s coming into season.
